Port Blair, Oct 03: On the occasion of Gandhi Jayanti a cleanliness drive was conducted at Hopetown sea shore area. It was organized by WITH YOU( NGO) in coordination with GreenWorms (Solid Waste Management Organisation) and Gram Panchayat Hopetown. A large number of the public took part in the cleanliness drive. Addressing the gathering Ms V.K. Mariyam Bibi, President WITH YOU informed about the importance of cleanliness and she stressed that all people should contribute towards swatcha. She expressed her gratitude towards the Greenworms, Pradhan, samity member, PRI members and villagers of Hopetown Gram Panchayat for taking active participation in such a drive. Huge quantities of plastic wastes were collected from the sea shore and was sent for further processing at cluster.
