Port Blair, Sept 19: A message forwarded in social media regarding an alleged attempt to kidnap a girl child of Wimberlygunj area has triggered panic among residents of Andaman and Nicobar Islands, leaving thousands of parents and children deeply worried.
The message written by unknown persons warns the public about a suspected kidnapping attempt by a few unknown persons but as per message the attempt was reportedly foiled when the 12 year old girl called her father and alerted others. As per the message the incident was reported yesterday at 8.45 PM at RCD Colony, Wimberlygunj area.
To know the truth behind this message, Andaman Sheekha Daily contacted a senior officer of Andaman and Nicobar Police, who said that soon after receiving the complaint, a police team reached at the spot and spoke to the girl and her family members. As per details two girls of the area have seen the suspected persons.
The police team also spoke to the PRI members of the area and is investigating the case in all possible angles.
As per details till nothing could be established about the suspected people and police team is also checking all CCTV cameras of the area. So far nothing has come up, it is reported.
As the matter has been shared widely in social media and has created a ripple in local society, it is crucial for police to find the truth behind this incident.
