Port Blair, Sep 18: The waste can be used to make useful and decorative items from the available waste in the house. Every day a lot of garbage isgenerated at home which includes coconut husks, old newspapers, glassjars, plastic bottles and cardboard boxes. All of these can be used ina creative way to decorate interiors or outdoor spaces. With thisconcept, the 3R team working in the SWM department of PBMC is makingdecorative and attractive items from plastic bottles and other wastematerials and installing them in the parks and other tourist places ofPort Blair.
An artificial butterfly has been created on Carbin Cove beach by the 3R team. It is attracting a lot of locals and tourists. An artificial tap has been made by the team from the waste material in Marina Parkitself, which looks quite adorable.
The team created Gandhi Park by making many other similar decorative and adorable designs. And also installed at other tourist places. People are not only getting inspired by these designs but are also taking interest in how they can use the waste materials in their homes.
