Diglipur, Sept. 16: Over the past couple of months, the normal life of the people of Diglipur has been paralysed with the disruption of power supply. Business, official works and works dependent on electric power supply are being severely disrupted.
As per report, after every 2-3 hour and at times without any time-frame there is a power failure which has put the people of Diglipur in real trouble.
Though the duration of the disruption varies,the power disruption has become a regular feature in Diglipur nowadays. And most importantly, online work in Govt. Offices where there is no alternative means of power supply are being severely impeded owing to this erratic power supply.
Repeated power failures hinder the process of these sorts of works; and as a result, the govt. staff managing the works can’t timely upload documents and forward various certificates required by the students intending to pursue higher studies and other aspirants wanting to fill forms of different trades of courses.
Similarly, electrical/domestic appliances are also being badly affected by this irritant power disruption, residents alleged. And business owners too suffer due to voltage fluctuations.
Talking to Andaman Sheekha, a shop-owner, on condition of anonymity said, “My UPS as well as CPU of my PC have got damaged due to this voltage fluctuations and repeated power failures.” General store owners in the town alleged that the goods they store in their refrigerators and deep freezers are always at a risk of perishing because of a power outage and repeated power disruptions and the voltage problem has damaged their deep freezers as well.”
