
Port Blair, Sep 14: The 36th Tri-Services Commanders’ Conference (TSCC) – South was held at Port Blair on 12th and 13th September 2022 under the aegis of Andaman and Nicobar Command. The two-day event was hosted by Lt Gen Ajai Singh, AVSM, Commander-in-Chief, Andaman Nicobar Command. The conference is an institutional platform for conceptual-level deliberations between common stakeholder C-in-Cs and culminated in important policy decisions. The objective of the conference was aimed at harnessing and synergizing the collective strengths and capabilities of India’s littoral service and Integrated-Service commands. The conference focused on addressing contemporary security paradigms while seeking ways to enhance combat capability and make operations more effective and efficient.
Lt Gen JS Nain, PVSM, AVSM, SM, ADC, GOC-in-C, Southern Command; V AdmAjendra Bahadur Singh, PVSM, AVSM, VSM, ADC, FOC-in-C, Western Naval Command; V Adm MA Hampiholi, AVSM, NM, FOC-in-C, Southern Naval Command; Air Mshl J Chalapati, AVSM, VSM, ADC, AOC-in-C, Southern Air Command and V Adm Sanjay Vatsayan AVSM, NM, Chief of Staff, Eastern Naval Command were present for the 36th Tri-Services Commanders Conference. In addition, numerous senior officers and staff officers from these commands also attended the deliberations. The Senior Commanders also called on the Hon’ble Lt Governor, Admiral DK Joshi, PVSM, AVSM, YSM, NM, VSM (Retd) at Raj Niwas on 12 Sep 22.
During the conference, the senior leadership deliberated on aspects pertaining to the geostrategic situation and infrastructure development in the IOR, coordinating the actions of the Regional Command of the three services, as well as avenues of augmenting tri-services training and readiness of all components.
It is axiomatic that while the three services are also deliberating the contours of forming Integrated Theatre Commands by integrating their 14 operational Regional Commands, ANC, the host of the 36th TSCC is itself a Quad service Integrated Theatre Command (Army, Navy, Air Force and Coast Guard) nearly 21 years since 08th October 2001.
