Port Blair, Sep 12: Under the guidance of Mr. Dev Kumar Thappla, Founder, CEO, ArSquare Development Pvt. Ltd and in assistance of Director Mr. Anuj J John and Regional Incharge, Roni Antony, Education 2.0 powered by ArSquare Development Private Limited in collaboration with Andaman Sky-Watchers organized a full moon watch for children on 10th September 2022 near Science Centre, Port Blair.
The objective behind this activity was to introduce a fun and entertaining way of learning to the young generation. There is also science involved but they also learned the non-science aspect of the same.
Mr. Raj Kapoor the founder of Andaman Sky-Watchers from Germany engaged the children on how to transform a fascination into a profession. About 60 children participated in this event. Each child was given the opportunity to see the moon through the telescope and was asked what features they saw on the surface of the moon. It was a remarkable experience for the children as it was the first time, they saw the moon through the telescope. Due to no pollution, the sky above Andaman is so clear that it provides a clear view of the planet line-up even for the naked eye, said Mr. Kapoor.
He intends to set up a planetarium to provide a celestial experience for the tourists coming to Andaman. After witnessing the blue nebula, himself in the Shaheed Dweep which will be an astronomic treat for the visitors.
The plan is to organize more such events in the future such as planet tracking, meteor showers and eclipses, etc. Education 2.0 expressed its gratitude to Andaman Star-watchers for conducting such an enlightening experience for its students and staff.
