Port Blair, Sep 09: Ms. V. K. Mariyam Bibi, Zilla Parishad Member, Bambooflat discussed the non-functioning of the canteen at Chatham Jetty with the Chief Port Administrator, PMB on 09th September 2022.
She apprised him about the difficulties faced by the commuters due to the closure of the canteen for the last 08 months. She further informed that Chatham Jetty is the major transit point and thousands of passengers commute daily. She requested to make the canteen functional at the earliest. The CPA informed her that the tender for awarding the canteen was finalized and it will soon become functional after doing some repair works by the APWD.
