Port Blair, Sept 02: Mr. R Alegar Swami, Zilla Parishad Member, Baratang has expressed his gratitude to Lt. Governor, A&N Islands, ChiefSecretary, A&N Administration and Member of Parliament, A&N Islands Mr. Kuldeep Rai Sharma for aiding in the early release of the compensation to the family members of the crocodile attack victim of Baratang Island.
Late Sobha Ekka was reportedly dragged away by a Saltwater Crocodile a few weeks back and upon search, the mutilated dead body was recovered on 06th August 2022 and the compensation of 5 lakh was paid to the spouse of the victim with the approval of Lt. Governor and with the efforts of PCCF(WL) and CCF (T).
Mr. Kuldeep Rai Sharma, Member of Parliament, A&N Islands had earlier requested the Lt. Governor to expedite the matter so that compensation is released without delay.
Mr. Alager Swami has also expressed gratitude to Mr. Sandeep Divyajyoti Behera, IFS, DFO Baratang and ACF Sarath Baratang Division for necessary ground works and completion of all paper works.
