Port Blair, Aug. 17: Andaman and Nicobar Islands Building and Other Construction WorkersWelfare Boardhas initiated an annual calendar wherein Camps and Field visits will beheld at each Panchayat in Andaman & Nicobar Islands. As part of this, campswere held at Calicut, Bambooflat-I and MayabunderPanchayat on Aug. 13 which was attended by around 150persons. The endeavour of the Board is to register eligibleconstruction worker as defined under Section 12 of Building and Other constructionWorker, (RE&CS), Act 1996 and extend various welfare scheme to registeredconstruction workers in the Islands.
