Port Blair, Aug 16: It is brought to the notice of the general public that the “HarGharTiranga” Campaign, through which the Union Government has urged the people to hoist the National Flag in their homes from 13th to 15th August 2022 to mark the 75th year of India’s Independence ended on Monday.
As the Campaign ends, there are certain rules to be followed while storing /disposing of the National Flag once you take it down after Independence Day celebrations, as per the Flag Code of India.
Hence, as per the meeting held with the Sanitary Officer, Sr. Sanitary Inspectors and Sanitary Inspectors which was led by the Chairperson, PBMC Mrs. U.Kavitha and the Senior Vice Chairperson PBMC Mr. Azizur Rahman jointly decided that those who want to dispose of National Flag is requested to not to throw it anywhere, but to handover it to the Sanitary Inspectors of the concerned ward of PBMC.
