Port Blair, Jul 25: Middle Andaman Forest Division organized the 01st Forest Monsoon Beach Festival on 23rd and 24th July 2022 at Dhanninallah Beach and Raman Bagicha Beach.
On 23rd July 2022, the Forest Monsoon Beach Festival was inaugurated at Dhanninallah Beach at 0800 Hrs with Ceremonial planting by Shri Satyaprakash Singh, IFS, Divisional Forest Officer, Middle Andaman Division, Shri. Adithya Kumar Asthana, DANICS, Assistant Commissioner, Rangat, other senior officers of various departments and PRI Members.
Followed by Nature Walk/ Trekking/ Mangrove Walk through the walkway enjoying the scenic beauty of the Mangrove Vegetation. Beach cleaning activities were also carried out by school students and the general public followed by an address by the Officers & PRI Members.
Drawing and Painting competitions were organized for the school students at Dhanninallah Beach followed by fun games such as the spot quiz, Musical Chair and Passing the ball, etc.
As a part of the beach festival, games/sports events such as Beach Volleyball (Men & Women) and Tug of War, 100m Sprint below 15 years (Men & Women), 100m Sprint above 15 years (Men & Women) were conducted at Raman Bagicha Beach, Nimbutala which was open for all general public, wherein huge participation of general public with great enthusiasm was noted.
During the festival a cultural night was organized wherein a series of programmes viz; singing competition (Male & Female), Dance Competition (Male & Female), Live Orchestra, live musical programme, etc., were also conducted and huge gathering was noticed, besides cultural programme which was presented by the school students at Raman Bagicha Beach received a huge response.
Stalls were put up by various Government Department/Public undertaking/Financial Institutions such as Forest, Agriculture, Health, Industries, Revenue, Police, Fire Service, A & N State Cooperative Bank Ltd. Displaying various welfare schemes/programmes initiated and run by them for the welfare & benefit of the general public & development of the area.
Winners of all the competitions were suitably rewarded at the closing ceremony of two days event on 24th July 2022. Best Stall trophy was bagged by the industries department followed by Agriculture Department. The two days Monsoon Beach festival ended in a befitting manner.
