Port Blair, Jul 14: As the whole nation is celebrating a year-long AzadikaAmritMahotsav, the GoI has been conducting a series of initiatives and programme nationwide. Of the many schemes and programmes being held across India, the Department of Forest is also conducting programmes such as awareness programmes on wildlife and nature.
The Forest department this week is rolling up a series of programmes on afforestation across the country. Under the flagship programme Van Mahotsav, The Department of Forest has conducted a sapling distribution event at the office of Gram Panchayat, Kanyapuram on 14th July 2022.
The programme was attended by Mr. P. Abdul Basheer, Pradhan, Panchayat Secretary, office bearers, ward members and Mr. Rajesh Lall, Sub-editor, Sahilki Oar. A total of 500 fruit saplings will be distributed across the Kanyapuram constituency.
