Port Bair, July 13: A day after a mob attacked a few shops of RK Traders at Digipur Bazaar, the Andaman and Nicobar Police today said that a case has already been registered against people who were part of the mob, which vandalized shops of a particular businessman.
Talking to Andaman Sheekha Daily the Superintendent of Police, N&M Andaman GeetanjaliKhandelwal today said that based on a complaint a case has been registered and investigations are going on.
“The incident happened due to misinformation. Some people have spread rumours, which filled people with anger right away. We are into the process of identifying people,” the SP added.
Regarding the slaughtering of a Cow, the SP added that three accused of Cow Slaughter case have been arrested and were sent to Judicial Custody today.
Meanwhile sources told Andaman Sheekha Daily that separate cases have also been registered against people who have attacked cops and caused damages to a police vehicle.
Meanwhile, the situation at Diglipur is said to be under control as a large number of police personnel have been deployed in various places of Diglipur Bazaar.
