Port Blair, Nov 30: The Coast Guard Wives Welfare Association (Tatrakshaika) of Coast Guard Region (A&N) celebrated their 19th Anniversary with much fan fare on 29 Nov 2012. A glittering cultural show and various sports events were organized for Tatrakshika members.
Addressing on the occasion, Mrs. Jyoti Murthy, President Tatrakshika (A&N) expressed her satisfaction in which Tatrakshika (A&N) conducted number of welfare oriented activities for the CG fraternity as well as for the under-privileged strata of the society over the past one year. She also urged the Tatrakshika members, who are employed to strike a balance between home, career and the Tatrakshika.
Later in the evening, the new “Community Centre” was inaugurated by Mrs. Jyoti Muthy, in the presence of Inspector General VSR Murthy, PTM, TM, Commander Coast Guard Region (A&N), number of officers and Tatrakshika committee members.
Speaking on the occasion, IG VSR Murthy applauded the contribution the Tatrakshika towards strengthening the CG organization in its own way and also rendering yeoman service by empowering every Tatrakshika member through varied educational schemes, giving them ample opportunity for self-improvement and self-expression thereby helping them to evolve into a confident and responsible person. He thanked all Tatrakshika members for organizing such a function and wished them good luck in all their future endeavours.
