Port Blair, Apr 19: The Member of Parliament of Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Mr. Kuldeep Rai Sharma has requested the Lt. Governor of Andaman and Nicobar Islands to direct the concerned departments to install Rubber Synthetic Court Mat over the Badminton court of Vivekananda Stadium’s Multipurpose Hall at Diglipur.
In a letter addressed to the Lt. Governor, the Member of Parliament mentioned that during his recent visit to Diglipur, North and Middle Andaman, a lot of youths have approached me with a demand to install Rubber Synthetic Court Mat over Vivekananda Stadium’s Multipurpose Hall at Diglipur.
He added that a large number of sports enthusiasts gather at Diglipur’s Multipurpose Hall of Vivekanand Stadium, every morning and evening for playing Badminton and many District as well as State level players of North Andaman also practice at the same court.
The Member of Parliament mentioned that in absence of a Rubber Synthetic Court Mat over the Badminton court, the badminton players of the area are often getting serious knee injuries.
