Port Blair, Apr 18: The District Administration, North and Middle Andaman in collaboration with the District Health Society, North and Middle Andaman and Dr. R. P. Hospital, Mayabunder conducted Block-Level Health Mela at Zilla Parishad Hall, Mayabunder as a part of the “Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav” on 18th April 2022.
The purpose of the Mela was to attract a large number of people desiring to avail of quality health care services with essential medicines, through different systems of medicines, all free of cost. It also helped in informing people about the various health programs.
Mrs. Anjali Sehrawat, IAS, Deputy Commissioner, North and Middle Andaman inaugurated the Health Mela. Wherein, the other heads of the Department and PRI representatives were also present to grace the mela in a befitting manner.
Block Health Mela was also conducted at Rangat in coordination with CHC Rangat and various line departments at Atal Bihari Vajpayee Auditorium. Ms. SitaMajhi, Pramukh, Panchayat Samiti, Rangat in presence of Dr. Nitin Shakya, DANICS, Assistant Commissioner Rangat and other PRI members inaugurated the Health Mela.
07 Km Marathon for boys and girls, Yoga Competition, Essay writing, Drawing Competition, Healthy Baby Show, Cultural event, Skit Competition, Fancy Dress Competition on the theme of “Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav” were organized.
