Port Blair, Apr 03: The team of PS Pahargaon solved the attempt of murder case of a young girl in Garacharma and arrested the absconding accused person within 24 hours.
On 30th March 2022, an 18 yrs old girl was brutally assaulted with a machete inside her house at Garacharma Murdha Khadi Road by the offender Srikant Sardar. On receipt of information, an FIR vide No. 57/22 dated 30/03/2022 U/s 450/307 IPC was registered at PS Pahargaon.
The offender absconded from the spot and went underground. Acting swiftly, 02 teams consisting of HC A Raja, PC Manikandan, PC Jagdish Babu, PC Amit Kumar, PC Santosh Kumar Yadav, PC Ashok Kumar, PC LendaHoro, PC CheriyaUraon and PC Suresh were formed under the supervision of Insp. Girish Kumar, SHO PS Pahargaon for search and arrest of the absconding accused person.
The teams followed several leads including sifting through various CCTV footages of the locality and examining several witnesses. Finally, the teams were able to track the accused who was hiding near Fish landing jetty, Junglighat.
Immediately, the accused person was nabbed by the team of PS Pahargaon and the weapon of offence was also recovered. The accused is identified as Srikant Sardar S/o ChamuSardar, (33) yrs, Pvt. Worker, R/o Garacharma.
