Port Blair, Mar 31: A 22-year-old youth was found hanging in an under-construction building near Japan Nallah, Prothrapur yesterday morning.
The deceased has been identified as Mr. Biswajit, 22 years old, a resident of Prothrapur, Port Blair. He was a private labourer and a permanent resident of South 24 Parganas, West Bengal. It is learnt that the youth was under huge debt as he was involved in gambling.
On Tuesday evening when he went out of his house for a walk and didn’t return back, his roommates started to look for him. As per the details, next morning the deceased was found hanging at Prothrapur in an under-construction building.
The body was spotted by people living nearby and soon PS Prothrapur was informed about it.
On information, a police team reached the spot and shifted the body to GB Pant hospital. After postmortem, today morning the body was sent to the native place of the deceased in West Bengal, it is informed.
