Port Blair, Mar 30: On today the 30th March 2022 Smti. Kavitha Udhaya Kumar, Chairperson Port Blair Municipal Council and Mr. Azizur Rehman, Senior Vice Chairperson , PBMC along with Mr. Dharmendra Narayan, and Rajesh Ram Councillor, Ward No-17 and 22 , paid floral tribute to the Seven martyr’s at Shaheed Vedi Sthal also known as Sath Sapooth Park situated at Marine Hill, Dugnabad. The day commemorates the supreme sacrifice of the seven distinguished government servants of the then Provincial Government. On this day in March 1943 the seven officials were shot dead by the Japanese Government over accusation of Spying. The Ex-Chairperson, PBMC Mr.N.K.Udhaya Kumar was also present during the occasion and paid floral tributes to the seven Martyrs.
