Rangat, Mar 28: Newly elected Panchayat Samiti members of Rangat Panchayat Samiti from BJP, today boycotted the election process of Pramukh and Up-Pramukh of Rangat PS, which was held at at Rangat Panchayat Samiti Bhavan.
All 14 newly elected Samiti Members along with their supporters had reached the Rangat Panchayat Samiti Bhavan to witness the election process.
But to the utter dismay of the public the entire process of election of Pramukh and Up-Pramukh started even without administering the oath of office to the newly elected Samiti Members, which according to the BJP is a violation of norms.
Later during the voting also one vote in favour of the BJP candidate was declared invalid by the Deputy Commissioner of N & M Andaman as the seal was put over the name of the candidate instead of symbol, which according to BJP is valid.
Considering the alleged discrepancies in the election process the all newly elected Panchayat Samiti members of Rangat Panchayat Samiti from BJP staged a boycott and later they blocked the vehicle of the Deputy Commissioner, NMA.
