Port Blair, Mar 27: A 19-year-old youth got arrested after allegedly assaulting his girlfriend after the breakup in Diglipur on Friday morning.
The accused has been identified as a 19-year-old youth resident of Kalipur and the victim is an 18-years-old resident of Shivpur. The incident took place when the boy called the girl to have a meeting at a place close to the girl’s house on Friday morning. During the meeting the boy insisted on knowing the cause of the breakup and this led to a heated argument.
As per reports during the heated argument, the 19-year-old youth assaulted the girl and attacked her with a blade, the girl got cut injuries in her neck but she somehow managed to escape and told the matter to her family. The girl who suffered a neck injury was immediately rushed to CHC Diglipur where she was attended by Doctors. On the next day the girl reported the matter in PS Diglipur, after which the youth was arrested. Further details are awaited.
