Port Blair, Mar 24: As part of nationwide ‘Puneet Sagar Abhiyan’, cadets of Army and Naval NCC Units conducted beach cleanship at Marina Beach under the supervision of PI Staff of both units. As a part of ‘Puneet Sagar Abhiyan’ cadets will generate awareness about the conservation and impact of plastic pollution along the beaches through nukkad nataks, poetry recitation, signature campaigns, pamphlet distribution amongst others. Cadets will interact with local NGOs and industries to convert waste into useful materials. Post completion of the event, the cadets were briefed by Colonel A Vivekananda, Commanding Officer, 1(AN) INDEP Inf Coy NCC about the perils of single use plastics and measures to mitigate them.
50 NCC Cadets participated in event with zeal and enthusiasm. All COVID protocols were followed during the conduct of the events.
