
Port Blair, Mar 23: After the conduct of Elections to Gram Panchayat a special meeting of Guptapara, Wandoor, Humphrygunj, Chouldhari, Tusnabad and Collinpur Gram Panchayats was convened on 23rd March 2023 by Assistant Commissioner, South Andaman to administer oath and also to elect Up-Pradhan to their respective Gram Panchayats.
Oath of Office to newly-elected Pradhans, Members and elected Up-Pradhans of Guptapara, Wandoor, Humphrygunj, Chouldhari, Tusnabad and Collinpur Gram Panchayats respectively administered by Mr. Dilkhush Meena, IAS, Assistant Commissioner, South Andaman and Ms. B Yashaswini, Assistant Commissioner (U/T), in their respective Panchayat Halls.
In Guptapara, Wandoor, Humphrygunj and Collinpur Gram Panchayats after administering the oath of allegiance to Pradhan and Members, Mrs. Shriti Kundu of BJP, Mr. Uttam Kumar Roy of BJP, Mrs. Laxmi Singh of INC and Mr. Babul Baroi of BJP respectively declared elected unopposed to the office of the Up-Pradhan wherein no other members filed the nominations.
In Chouldhari Gram Panchayat after administering the oath of allegiance to Pradhan and Members, an election was conducted to the office of Up-Pradhan in which Mrs. Gegi Gharami of BJP was elected to the post of Up-Pradhan by a margin of 08 votes against Mr. Ashim Baidya of BJP.
In Tusnabad Gram Panchayat after administering the oath of allegiance to Pradhan and Members, an election was conducted to the office of Up-Pradhan in which Mr. Rajesh Mondal (Ind) was elected to the post of Up-Pradhan by a margin of 06 votes against Mrs. Raj Kumari (Ind).
The Oath ceremony was conducted peacefully and the Assistant Commissioner, South Andaman congratulated the elected members.
