Port Blair, Mar 22: Some tour operators and visiting tourists today expressed their anger at Haddo Port by shouting slogans against authorities for not sailing private vessels from Haddo Wharf as per given schedule.
According to sources some private vessels were scheduled to sail for Swaraj Dweep at 6.00 AM but due to lack of required permission the private vessels could not sail, for which tourists suffered heavily at Haddo jetty, which ultimately resulted in protest by tour operators present at the Jetty with the tourists.
Some tourists were seen arguing with CISF guards at the jetty for not allowing them to board the vessel for Swaraj Dweep. There was complete chaos at the Haddo Port because of the crowding and delay of the vessels.
Later at around 09:00 AM when the private ships got permission from the Port Management Board (PMB) to sail the situation came under control. Andaman Sheekha Daily tried to contact officers of the Port Management Board (PMB) to know the facts but no officials from PMB were available for a comment.
