Port Blair, Feb 28: For the forthcoming Panchayat Elections, Mr. TSG Bhasker, ANTCC Campaign Committee Chairman along with Mr. Saji Varghese, City Congress Former General Secretary, Mr. Ameer Bux, DCC Secretary, Mr. Sebastian Tirkey, Youth Congress Former General Secretary and Mr. Ganesh Acharya, Former Block President on 28th February joined their party’s candidates of Diglipur in their door-to-door campaign.
The Congress leaders held small public meetings with peoples of all Panchayats and highlighted the points mentioned in their manifesto. They appealed to the people to vote and support all Congress candidates of Diglipur.
Mr. Bhasker claimed that there is an immense response from the people for the Congress Party candidates.
“Voters in Diglipur are looking for a change. There are issues like unemployment which needs to be addressed,” he said.
Mr. Bhasker reiterated Congress’s promise of providing honest governance to the people of A&N Islands if the party comes to power after the Elections.
“The voters feel that the Congress Government in ZillaParishad will resolve their issues. All the guarantees announced by us, including providing uninterrupted electricity and water supply, reservation in employment for local youths, will be fulfilled,” he added.
