Port Blair, Feb 24: State Control Room, Directorate of Disaster Management, A&N Administration issued a Thunderstorm warning over the Nicobar Islands received from IMD Kolkata.
It is informed that on 24th, 25th and 26th February 2022 thunderstorm with lightning is likely to occur at one or two places over A&N Islands.
27th, 28th February 2022, heavy rain (7-11 cm) is likely to occur with thunderstorms with lightning and gusty wind (30-40kmph) at one or two places over A&N Islands.
Due to the likely formation of Cyclonic circulation over the South Andaman Sea and squally wind speed reaching 40-50 Kmph gusting to 60 Kmph likely to prevail, Fishermen are advised not to venture into the Andaman Sea and the southeast Bay of Bengal on 27th and 28th February 2022. No Port Warning was issued.
