Port Blair, Feb 08: The District Magistrate, South Andaman District, Suneel Anchipaka and the District Magistrate, North and Middle Andaman Anjali Sehrawat today issued two different orders relaxing a large number of Covid-19 restrictions in both South Andaman District and North and Middle Andaman District.
As per an order issued this morning, the DM South Andaman has withdrawn night curfew enforced in the entire District of South Andaman with immediate effect with no restrictions on movement of men and materials.
Social/Political/Sports/Entertainment/Academic/Cultural/Religious/Festivals related and other gathering and congregations have been permitted with strict adherence of COVID appropriate behaviours like wearing of mask, social distancing, cough etiquettes etc.
All religious places/ places of worship, all Tourists spots in South Andaman District, All Parks/ Playgrounds/ Stadiums/ Gyms and yoga institutes, Indoor/ Outdoor Sports activities, Theatres have also been permitted with strict adherence of COVID appropriate behaviours.
Academic congregations have been allowed in the South Andaman region.
Provision of thermal scanning and use of hand wash and sanitizers will be mandatory in all the places.
“Any disobedience of the above orders shall invite penal action u/s 188 of Indian Penal Code, 1860 and the relevant provisions of the Disaster Management Act, 2005 against the violator(s) and fine shall also be imposed as per orders issued by this office from time to time,” an order issued by the District Magistrate of South Andaman mentioned here today.
Almost similar order for relaxing a large number of Covid-19 restrictions in N & M Andaman has also been issued by the District Magistrate, North and Middle Andaman Anjali Sehrawat today.
