Port Blair, Feb 02: Resentment is running high among 20 contract employees of the National Rural Health Mission (NRHM) of North and Middle Andaman District, as they haven’t got their salary incentives for nearly one year.
It is learnt that the pending salary incentives of Community Health Officer (CHO) and Mid Level Health Provider (MLHP) of 1st Batch and 2nd batch, who were appointed in North and Middle Andaman District have not been released. NRHM Employees claimed that whenever the matter was taken up with the higher officers, they were always assured that the payment is under process.
When Andaman Sheekha Daily, contacted a senior officer of NRHM, N & M Andaman, who doesn’t want his name to be quoted, he informed that the file is under process.
“The delay is due to processing the file but within a week the salary incentives will be transferred to the employees,” he assured Andaman Sheekha team.
For senior officers, this might by a simple case of delay because of file processing but for the employees who depends solely on monthly salary and incentives, to maintain their family, this is a matter of life and death.
Delay in release of salary for one year is a serious issue and now grassroot leaders of the region are planning to write to the Chief Secretary to fix responsibility on some officials for this delay, which caused huge suffering for some employees of the National Rural Health Mission (NRHM) of North and Middle Andaman District.
