Port Blair, Jan 21: Mr. Vishal Jolly, National Executive Member, BJP, Former State President, BJP-ANI demanded for providing examination centrein “Port Blair, A & N Islands” with reference to Notification No. 1-1/2021/Rectt.Cell/Technical(CBT), dated 18th December, 2021, published for conducting competitive examination for recruitment to the posts of Technician (T-1) at ICAR Headquarters & its Research Institutes by addressing a letter to MananiyaNarendra Singh TomarHon’ble Union Minister for Agriculture and Farmer’s Welfare Government of India
In his letter Mr. Jolly wrote the following aspect to bring the attention to the above referred advertisement published by the ICAR-Indian Agricultural Research Institute, Pusa, New Delhi, which is an autonomous organization under the Department of Agricultural Research and Education, Ministry of Agriculture & Farmer’s Welfare, Government of India.
1. That the recruitment notice was published and PAN India online entries were invited from aspiring eligible candidates in order to fill up 641 posts of Technician (T-1), at ICAR Headquarters & its Research Institutes, by conducting competitive examination for recruitment through 164 (one hundred & sixty four) examination centres from several States and UTs.
2. It may be noted that from the said notification it transpires that although 10 (ten) posts were earmarked for A & N Islands, but no examination centre was provided in A & N Islands for our aspiring candidates.
3. It is needless to mention here that considering the geographical isolation or its distant location it would be highly difficult for the interested eligible candidates hailing from our Islands to travel upto either Tamil Nadu or West Bengal for participating in the recruitment process amidst the prevailing third wave of the Covid pandemic. Apart from that, they will have to spend huge amount of money for attending the competitive examination which is scheduled to be held between 25th January to 05th February, 2022.
4. The eligible candidates of a & N Islands would be certainly deprived of a fair opportunity to participate in the recruitment process, if an Examination Centre is not provided in Port Blair, A & N Islands.
Accordingly he demanded for providing a separate “Examination Centre” in Port Blair, A & N Islands, for the aspiring eligible candidates hailing from Andaman & Nicobar Islands for participating in the competitive examination for recruitment to the posts of Technician (T-1) at ICAR Headquarters & its Research Institutes, in the interest of justice.
