Port Blair, Jan 19: Mr. Ajoy Bairagi, State President, Bharatiya Janata Party, Andaman and Nicobar Islands has written a letter to the Chief Secretary, Andaman and Nicobar Administration informing him of issues with the Anganwadi Centres.
Mr. Bairagi in his letter has mentioned that during his recent visit to Swaraj Dweep the general public raised the issue of Anganwadi Centres and informed that the Anganwadi Staff are not paid on time and the children are also not getting the nutritional supplements and snacks from the last six months.
He further mentioned that on enquiry he came to know that the situation is same in almost all the Islands and also some Anganwadi Centres are about to close down due to non-payment to private owners.
Mr. Ajoy Bairagi mentioned that it is a matter of concern and requested the Chief Secretary to enquire on the matter and resolve it on priority.
