Port Blair, Jan 16: Mr. Abdul Siddique, Ex-Pramukh, Mayabunder has urged for the removal of bushes and branches of thorny Berry trees along the Neemtala road as it could cause injuries to people crossing that road and also urged for the widening of Neemtala road at the earliest.
In a letter addressed to the Deputy Commissioner of North and Middle Andaman, Mrs. Anjali Sehrawat, Mr. Siddique informed that the Neemtala road from Medical Junction to Danapur main road near Old fire station has turned into a very dangerous road stretch due to the protruding branches of thorny Berry trees standing on both sides of the Neemtala Road which may cause severe injuries to any individual.
He pointed out that two-wheeler riders or pedestrians crossing the said road area are equally facing difficulties.
“The said road plays a vital role in the life of the people of Mayabunder and surrounding areas because it is a shortcut for the people to reach the District Hospital Mayabunder. The said road is also very important for the patients going to Hospital and also for the Ambulance carrying the patients to Dr. R. P. Hospital,” he added.
