Port Blair, Jan 16: The Member of Parliament of Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Mr. Kuldeep Rai Sharma met the Secretary of PBMC and requested him to allot 200 sq mtr land of PBMC at Dairy Farm area of Port Blair city near the water treatment plant of APWD, for construction of an RCC Overhead water tank of 150000 Ltrs. storage capacity.
The work, with an approximate cost of Rs. 60,00,000 (Sixty Lakhs) was earlier sanctioned by the Member of Parliament for proper water supply to the residents of Dairy Farm and its adjacent areas under MPLADS so that the acute water scarcity faced every year by residents of Dairy Farm area and adjoining area could be effectively resolved.
As non-availability of sufficient land for this project was a major hurdle the Member of Parliament met with the Secretary of PBMC recently and requested him to allot 200 sq mtr land (PBMC land) near the water treatment plant of APWD, which is at the hilltop. The Secretary of PBMC reportedly assured to do the needful in this matter at the earliest.
