Port Blair, Nov 18: Prominent Telugu writer, lyricist, child rights activist, film personality Dr. M. Bhoopal Reddy, who is currently on a visit to the Islands visited the Government Senior Secondary School, Haddo where he inaugurated a book exhibition in the school library in connection with the National Book Week 2012-13 and interacted with the staff and students.
Dr Reddy, who authored many children’s books in Telugu, shared his songs and stories with the students. He called upon the children to keep the Telugu language alive in the islands. The children also composed a song about him and welcomed him. Dr. R. Devdas, Director of Education, A&N Administration also addressed the students and called upon them to develop good reading habits. Earlier Dr. S.K. Sethi, Principal, GSSS Haddo welcomed the author to the school and thanked him for enlightening the students about Telugu literature and culture. Dr Reddy was accompanied by Shri Manas Ranjan Mahapatra and Shri Sayebur Rahman of the National Book Trust of India.
