Port Blair, Nov 18: Amway India Enterprises, the largest Direct Selling FMCG company of the country and a wholly owned subsidiary of Amway corporation has posted 44% growth in ANDAMAN & NICOBAR ISLANDS for the fiscal year of 2011 compared to the corresponding period of the previous fiscal (2010). The company has registered strong growth in the cluster of West Bengal, Andaman & Nicobar Islands and Sikkim in the first half of the current fiscal 2012 as well.
Amway India has also registered strong growth in the first half of 2012 nationally and as a result the company is poised to cross the Rs 2500 Crore mark in 2012. The company posted a turnover of Rs. 2130 Crore in 2011– up from Rs. 1790 Crore in 2010.
Speaking at a press conference at Port Blair, Mr. William S Pinckney, MD & CEO, Amway India, said, “Amway India recorded revenue of Rs. 2130 crores in 2011 growing at 19% over the previous fiscal. This is the fourth successive year that we have registered double digit growth. Our focus over the past 3-4 years on improving consumer awareness and access has paid off handsomely essentially as the quality of the Amway pick-up centers has undergone a sea change, and is more experiential for the consumer. Moreover, the ability to place orders on the web coupled and our TV advertisement campaigns have also contributed to our growth.
Speaking on the growth in West Bengal, Sikkim & Andaman Nicobar Islands, He commented “The cluster of West Bengal , Andaman Nicobar Islands and Sikkim,one of the high growth potential clusters for Amway India, has posted a robust growth in the first half of the year 2012.The growth is buoyed by the launch of world class superior quality products in the lead categories of Health & Beauty, Launch of Amway Home, increased consumer access strategy coupled with experiential marketing & brand awareness, penetration of products in semi urban and rural markets of the state and the tremendous effort put by the distributors. We are quite hopeful that A & N Islands, a key driver of growth in the cluster of West Bengal, Sikkim and A&N Islands for Amway India would be following the growth trajectory this fiscal.”
