Diglipur, Jan. 09: Thiruvalluvar Youth Club, Diglipur organized today a Kabaddi Knockout Tournament at Vivekananda Stadium to commemorate the Thiruvalluvar Day Celebration. Mr. Ankit Sharma (IAS), Assistant Commissioner, Diglipur was the Chief Guest who was honoured by Mr. N. Raju, President, Merchant Association Diglipur with a shawl on this sport event in presence of Mr. Stalin, SHO, Diglipur and Mr. S.R. Biswas, Coordinator, NYK. The ACDP spoke a few words on this occasion to encourage and boost the morale of the participating teams and also assured the club of extending possible help in regard to the improvement in such sports events in future.
Altogether 09 teams participated in the match among which two each from Rangat and Mayabunder while 5 were from Diglipur. In the final match today, Mayabunder Stars Team displayed a superb caliber in the match was declared the Winner Team while Rangat Boys became the Runner-up Team.
The declared cash award of Rs. 10,001/- and Rs. Rs. 7001/- with trophies will be given by the Assistant Commissioner, Diglipur to the Winner Team and the Runner-up Team respectively on 15th January 2022, the final programme day at Tamizhar Sangam, Diglipur, Thiruvalluvar Youth Club said.
