Port Blair, Jan 05: The Member of Parliament of Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Mr. Kuldeep Rai Sharma has requested the Chief Secretary of Andaman and Nicobar Administration to schedule a ship for Hut Bay so that a large number of people, who are willing to come to Port Blair, including transferred teachers, could reach Port Blair.
In a letter addressed to the Chief Secretary the Member of Parliament mentioned that a large number of residents are willing to come to Port Blair for various urgent needs, such as medical treatment, official works etc. but due to non-availability of ships, they are unable to come to Port Blair.
He added that a good number of teachers, who have been transferred from Little Andaman to other stations, are unable to leave the station and join a new place of posting. These teachers were relieved on 1st January 2022 and were given 10 days joining time but till now no new schedule for Hut Bay sailing has been announced. The Member of Parliament pointed out that the last ship had reached Hut Bay on 30th December 2021 and it’s been almost 6 days that no new schedule has been announced.
