Port Blair, Dec 20: A double murder case has been reported from Rampur village, ward no 5 area of Rangat region, in which a father and his son were murdered by another villager.
As per inputs, accused namely Mr. Ranjeet Roy S/o Late Sharath Roy (37)yrs R/o Rampur ward no 5 reportedly murdered Mr. Bimal Halder S/o Bidhu Bhusan (68)yrs R/o Rampur ward no 5 and Mr. Bipul Halder S/o Bimal Halder (40)yrs R/o Rampur ward no 5.
It was learnt that Mr. Ranjeet had a quarrel with Mr. Bipul Halder due to which Mr. Bipul and his father Mr. Bimal attacked Mr. Ranjeet with a machete but Ranjeet overpowered Mr. Bipul and snatched the machete from Mr. Bipul and attacked Mr. Bipul Halder and Mr. Bimal Halder.
Mr. Ranjeet reportedly beheaded Mr. Bimal Halder and cut the neck of Mr. Bipul Halder thus both of them died on the spot. Later, Mr. Ranjeet went and surrendered himself in PS Rangat and confessed the crime. Police team is conducting further investigation.
