Port Blair, Nov 13: The Lok Jansakti Party has requested the Prime Minister of India to close all bars in the Andaman & Nicobar Islands.
In a letter addressed to the PM, Mr G Nagendran, the State Youth President, Lok Jansakti Party stated him that he was requested by the people of Prem Nagar, Anarkali, Buniyadabad, Delanipur, and All India Radio for help. Mr Nagendran also informed him that the Andaman and Nicobar Administration is interested to open Self Service Wine shop everywhere in these Islands, where anyone can walk, choose and get a bottle of “poison”, which is not a good sign for a society.
Further Mr Nagendran added that the Andaman and Nicobar Islands Integrated Development Corporation (ANIIDCO) is a Public Sector Organization with the main objective of the corporation is to develop and commercially exploit the natural resources for the balanced and environment friendly development of the territory.
“On selling of liquor by ANIIDCO they have already spoiled so many families and due to liquor there is rise of Domestic Violence, Drunk and Driving Case and suicide case etc. Instead of opening self service wine shop the ANIIDCO should concentrate in the opening of educational institutions, tourism sector, adventure park, game zone and in medicare centers,” he said.
