

Port Blair, Oct 24: The Member of Parliament, Mr. Kuldeep Rai Sharma today inaugurated the newly refurbished and renovated Consumer Cooperative Stores (CCS) Outlet at Aberdeen Bazaar in the presence of Chairman, Secretary, Board of Directors and prominent and Ex Board Members of CCS Ltd.
Speaking on the occasion, the MP congratulated for the successful completion of renovation of the CCS branch. He exhorted the CCS board to work enthusiastically in the service of the Islanders and bring back the lost glory of the organization and regain trust of the Islanders.
Earlier welcoming the august gathering, Mr. Abdul Siddique secretary CCS Ltd threw light on the journey of CCS made so far. He informed that CCS is one of the oldest institutions of the Islands and over the years it has gone through many ups and downs. Under the able guidance of the MP and with an aim to thrust upon the Cooperative movement in the Islands, the CCS Management Board is committed to revive the institution. The Management has also taken the decision to renovate and refurbish its other outlets in Bathubasti, Bambooflat and Wimberlygunj to make it more user-friendly and enable smart shopping. The Secretary, CCS thanked for the overall guidance, support and vision of the MP and for the support rendered by all its Board members. Chairman CCS Ltd smti Pushpanjali Raju and Ex Secretary of CCS Ltd in the year 1974 Mr. Hamid Ali ,Mr. Rangalal Haldar President Antcc & Smti Shanta Laxman Singh Senior leader and social worker also spoke on the occasion.
