Port Blair, Oct 03: As a part of weeklong Health Camp program being organised by Mr. Kuldeep Rai Sharma, Member of Parliament in association with ANIIMS and Private Hospitals from 01.10.2021 to 07.10.2021 during the Breast Cancer Awareness Month, Health Camp on 02.10.2021 was conducted in the Community Hall at Chouldary under the aegis of Andaman and Nicobar Islands Institute of Medical Sciences (ANIIMS) and on 03.10.2021 in the Community Hall at Shore Point under the aegis of Pillar Health Center, Dr. Agarwals Eye Hospital and Arun Hospital.
At the outset the Member of Parliament appreciated the endeavor of the Andaman and Nicobar Administration for bringing the Health Checkup facilities and treatment at the door steps of the common people residing in the remote localities through Health Camps. He also requested the A&N Administration to conduct Health Camps in the remote areas of Middle & North Andaman District and Nicobar District at regular intervals which will save money and time of the residents of remote localities spent on visiting GB Pant Hospital for medical checkup and treatment. Mr. Sharma expressed gratitude to Dr A K Mandal, Director of ANIIMS for lending the services of Doctors for conducting Health Camps at six various locations in the rural areas of South Andaman District and for his presence in the Health Camp at Chouldary. The Member of Parliament also applauded the services of the team of specialist doctors of various disciplines of medicine and surgery of ANIIMS. Around 150 women from Chouldary and the nearby villages attended the Health Camp for medical advice, check-ups, treatment and medicine.
At the Health Camp held on 03.10.2021 at Shore Point, the Member of Parliament expressed gratitude to the management of three Private Hospitals for voluntarily conducting Free Health Camp for the benefit of the ladies belonging to less privileged strata of society. The Member of Parliament thanked the eye specialist, gynecologist, pediatrician, general physician and their team for making themselves available on Sunday for the health camp. More than 160 women availed the benefits of free health camp at Shore Point.
The Member of Parliament requested the ladies present at venue of the Health Camps to spread health awareness and necessity of medical check-ups amongst their fellow companions. He said by early diagnosis of diseases or illnesses in such Health Camps, it becomes easy to cure it on time and life can be saved before any danger or damage happen to it.
