Port Blair, Sep 14: The Director IP&T, Mr. Alok Kumar (DANICS), said that today altogether six flights with 960 passengers arrived today at Port Blair Airport and all passengers have undergone RT-PCR test, the results for today’s RT-PCR are awaited.
While addressing the COVID-19 media briefing today at IP&T Conference hall he pointed out that among passengers, who arrived yesterday (Monday), seven passengers were found COVID-19 positive at the RT-PCR test. Later one person at G B Pant Hospital was found COVID-19 positive.
The Director, IP&T further informed that 224 persons (travelers) bound for N&M Andaman were tested at Ferrargunj in which no persons were found COVID-19 positive during Rapid Antigen Test (RAT) and 92 passengers departing for Shaheed Dweep Islands were also tested today in which all were found COVID-19 negative during Rapid Antigen Test (RAT). Further the director informed that at Mohanpura Bus stand 205 RAT was conducted in which no person was found COVID-19 positive and at Helipad total 05 persons were tested in which all were found COVID-19 negative.
“At Phoenix Bay jetty, 74 passengers travelling to Swaraj Dweep were tested in which all were found Covid-19 negative during Rapid Antigen Test (RAT).
“Today a total of 1003 doses of vaccine were provided to eligible beneficiaries in which 893 were of 18-44 year age group at JNRM Vaccination Center,” he added.
Later, Dr. A K Mondal, the Director ANIIMS informed that at GB Pant Hospital today one new COVID-19 positive case got admitted, so altogether 05 patients are there at GB Pant Hospital. Whereas today no asymptomatic patient got admitted at Covid Care Center, he added.
