
Port Blair, July 28: The Senior National Men & Junior Girls Online Chess Championship 2021 which began on 26th July 2021 concluded today successfully. Around 380 players in senior Men & Junior girls across India participated in this prestigious event.
The Games were held in Rapid format that followed 15 minutes, plus a 5 second increment per move, per player which held over 11 rounds for three days at Tornelo Platform under video supervision where the players are being watched by the arbiters through zoom.
cash prizes will be awarded to top 20 players in Junior Girls section amounting to Rs.1,25,000 /- and top 10 players in Senior Men section amounting 250,000/-
Players from Andaman & Nicobar Islands participated in this National event enthusiastically and performed exceptionally well. Especially the junior girls performed pretty well. R Kashthuri Bhai, U-13 girl from Andaman & Nicobar Islands played exceptionally well and scored seven & a half points with seven wins & a draw in 11 rounds and secured place in top 20 in the Natioanals and eligible for cash prize as per the Tornelo Standings. The Final standings will be displayed after the Fair Play Committee’s decision which is awaited. Similarly all the junior girls performed very well, Tanisha Raj scored four & a half point with four wins & a draw , K S Sanjhana Sri & R Shruti scored 4 points each with four wins S Varanya scored 3 points with three wins and V Amrithavarshini scored two & a half point with two wins and a draw .
In senior Men Category, P S Satish scored four & a half point with four wins and a draw. Sanjay Kumar, P Manvender Rao, J Purusotham, P Anand Rao & Sarath Menon scored 4 points each. K Sita Ram & T Rama Rao scored three points each with three wins and J Yadhava Rao scored two & a half point with two wins and a draw.
