Port Blair, July 27: To bring more transparency and improve ease of doing business, A & N Administration has been continuously taking many proactive initiatives. It has been felt that vehicle owners have to visit the office multiple times to obtain the fitness certificate of their vehicles. In this direction, Transport Department made the services of ‘Fitness of Vehicle and Renewal of Certificate of Registration of Vehicle’ online as a part of the ongoing initiatives undertaken by the Transport Department for providing better services to the Public.To stop physical visits to office, these transactions have been made online which was formally launched by Shri G Sudhakar, Secretary (Transport) in the presence of Dr. Aom Dhole, Director (Transport) on 26.07.2021. First slot was booked on behalf of a vehicle owner in the presence of the vehicle owner and related documents were handed over to him.
With the launch of these services the fee payment, slot booking for fitness, renewal of RC can be done online by the vehicle owner itself on visiting the urlhttps://parivahan.gov.in. After booking the slot as per the convenience of the vehicle owner, the vehicle needs to be taken to the vehicle inspection site for inspection by Motor Vehicle Inspector. The fitness observation/ result will be recorded in Android tablet on the spot by the MVI and it will be approved online by the Authority. Thereafter fitness certificate can be generated and downloaded online by the vehicle owner.
