Port Blair, July 02: Today morning Miss Mariyam Bibi, Coordinator, North and Middle Mahila Congress/Secretary, Andaman & Nicobar Territorial Congress committee called on the Director Shipping Services and highlighted the issues being faced by residents of Bambooflat and adjoining areas of South Andaman, due to limited number of vehicle ferry trips.
She requested the Director Shipping Services to provide vehicle ferry services at 12:00 noon also because after morning 08:30 AM there are no ferry services available till 01:30 PM between Bambooflat and Port Blair. She said that because of limited ferries people are suffering heavily and there is a huge rush of people at both Chatham and Bambooflat Jetty. She also demanded to start ferry service at 05:30 AM in the morning so that passengers can commute easily.
