Port Blair, Oct 30: The President, The Indian National Trade Union Congress, Mr Kuldeep Rai Sharma requested the Chief Engineer, APWD to issue appropriate instruction to authority concerned for payment of Non-PLB(Ad-hoc Bonus) to all such workers who have worked for more than 3 years with 240 working days each year at the rate prescribed by the government.
In a letter addressed to CE, APWD Mr Sharma stated that Government of India OM No. 7/24/2007/E.III(A) dated 05.10.2012 regarding grant of Non- Productivity Linked Bonus(Ad-hoc) to the Central Government employees for the year 2011-2012. “As per the provision incorporated at Para 2(iii) of the above referred Office Memorandum ,the casual labour who have worked in offices following 6(six) days a week for at least 240 days for each year for 3 years or more , will be eligible for the Non-PLB(Ad-hoc Bonus)payment. The amount of Non-PLB (Ad-hoc Bonus) payable will be Rs.1200 x 30/30.4 i.e.Rs.1184.21(rounded off to Rs.1184/-),” Mr Sharma said.
This issue was also raised by Mr M Raju, Vice President INTUC, residing at Katchal , but his request has not been acceded by the Executive Engineer, Construction Division, Nancowry, under whose jurisdiction comes Kamorta, Katchal, Teressa.
