Port Blair, Oct 30: The PCC, President Mr Kuldeep Rai Sharma today urged the Chairman of Port Blair Municipal Council to roll back the water tax from Rs 100 to Rs 25.
In a letter addressed to the Chairman PBMC Mr Sharma stated that the whimsical hike in water tax from Rs. 25/- per month to Rs. 100/- per month, has been reported, which has been proposed by the Executive Engineer, Water. “Such exorbitant hike that too on essential item will be an added burden on the common people and the poor members of the society, which can not be accepted,” Mr Sharma added.
