Port Blair, May 30: In a live phone in programme aired by AIR, Port Blair on 25.05.2021 in which Mr. Suneel Anchipakka, DC(SA) was the guest, while responding to an issue raised by Mr. Y Sajeevan, as the President of Andaman & Nicobar Teachers’ Association on the provisions for vaccinating the officials mostly teachers on COVID duty for surveillance and other field and control room activities on out of turn basis who are vulnerable for infection, as they come into direct contact with the COVID patients as well as the ILI cases, assured that it shall be done on priority.
The district administration swung into action within no time and the field officials are being vaccinated out of turn.
On a similar note, it is reported that Smti. Angel Bhati Chauhan, DC(N&M) has been ensuring vaccination of surveillance staff in her district.
The prompt and timely action of the district administrators shall go a long way in arresting the spread of the virus in our islands. The entire teaching fraternity is extremely gratified for the proactive gestures of DC(SA) and DC(N&M).
