Port Blair, May 28: The Secretary of Information Publicity and Tourism, Mr. S K Singh today said that three flights with 338 passengers landed at Port Blair Airport today and all passengers have undergone RT-PCR test.
He further informed that 25 people (travelers) bound for N&M Andaman were tested at Ferrargunj and two of them were found COVID-19 positive. Results of today’s flight passengers are awaited. Today at Phoenix Bay port also RAT tests were conducted on six passengers among whom none of them found were COVID-19 positive.
The secretary further pointed out that yesterday (Thursday) among 236 flight passengers none of them were found COVID-19 positive.
About vaccination drive, the Secretary informed that today altogether 605 eligible beneficiaries (three District) got vaccinated, which consisted of 595 beneficiaries of age group above 18-44 years, who got their first dose of vaccine.
The Director, ANIIMS, Dr. AK Mandal, informed media persons that nine new COVID patients were admitted today in G.B. Pant Hospital and five patients got discharged. With this, the number of corona positive patients in Hospital is 66. Out of the 66 patients, 55 are on Oxygen support and three are on ventilator.
The Deputy Director of Health, Dr. Amitabh De further said that today one new patient is admitted at COVID Care Center whereas two patients got discharged and the number of patients in the COVID Care Center is 20 and at Wimberlygunj COVID Care Center one new admission is reported and two got discharged, at present 04 patients are admitted till date.
