Port Blair, May 04: Mr. K Ganeshan, President, DNA-ANI,in a letter addressed to Lt. Governor, A&N Islands, requested to declare media persons as front warriors and arrange priority vaccination.
Appreciating role of administration in fight against Covid -19 in A & N Islands and also keeping all stake holders in confidence, the President, DNA-ANI wrote that in this fight against COVID-19, media persons are also playing an active role but unfortunately media persons are not declared as front line warrior and were not considered for vaccination on priority basis like it was done in odisha.
He pointed out that “In Tripura state this issue is also under active consideration. I am sure that you will appreciate the vital role of the media in fighting the pandemic like other corona warriors. Like health professionals, security persons and many others, a number of journalists have also lost their lives on the line of duty in our country. Like all other essential services, media houses also remained open during the whole calamity” the president, DA-ANI added.
