Port Blair, Apr 25: Setting an example of vaccinating people with tremendous dedication, the Andaman and Nicobar Islands today crossed one Lakh mark, which is around 25 percent of total population of the Union Territory.
Despite having some of the remotest and scattered Islands, health workers managed to reach almost all the remote Islands like Chowra, Nancowry and Great Nicobar to vaccinate people in ferries and helicopters.
The health teams designated in various vaccination centres spread across the Islands are vaccinating all the beneficiaries above 45+ of age who visit the centre on a daily basis.
At present the vaccination sessions are being conducted in more than 88 designated vaccination centres set up in different parts of the Islands towards the fight against Corona virus in A& Islands.
Meanwhile, Admiral D K Joshi, (Retd.) Lieutenant Governor of Andaman & Nicobar Islands & Vice Chairman Islands Development Agency and Mrs. Chitra Joshi, First Lady of the Islands administered the second dose of Covid-19 vaccine today at JNRM center of Port Blair.
